This was my second ever autocross event, at O.co Coliseum in Oakland, California. It was a great track and I had a blast. My dad also ran his C5 Z06 Corvette.

It's bone stock, haha. I'm 17, it's my first car and I bought it myself. It's N/A with 195's all around. Hooray, cheap tires!

Looks like you need a lower steering ratio, you a really working at the wheel. Nicely driven though. I really wish I had an MR2 for ultimate MR fun!

MR2's really like to have the right size tires on them. A MKII MR2 needs staggered tires (wider in the back) to make the chassis work properly. many run 205's in front and 225's in back to help make them handle better. Then its time for a set of "crash bolts" so you can dial in some camber. A good set of tires and crash bolts and a good alignment and you won't recognize the car.

Not bad at all truthfully for your 2nd time.

Get closer to the cones and clean up your lines. The loop at the beginning you were losing a lot of time at...but it could be a product of the bone stock nature of the car as you mentioned in another comment.

Your goal should after that be to maximize corner exit speed while balancing the entry location and speed for the next corner.

Very cool! My MR2 was the first car I ever bought for myself as well, I'm 19 and it's a 93 Turbo. I haven't taken mine out autocrossing, I'm planning on it soon though.

78 Dollar tires is the best.

Hey! I have a 3rd Gen MR2. i've been thinking of autocrossing, or SCCA ralley events, but I see everyone requiring a roll cage for convertibles.

While this isn't a bad idea, it's also not a cheap idea.

However, it looks like you're not running one? unless it's that "bolt to the floor behind the seats" model that i've seen online?

If you're not, what club was this through?

Edit: now that I watch the video, I realize you're not running a 3rd gen, as it looked in the screenshot at the lead of the page :)

Haha, it's an '91 N/A with t-tops. This was an SFR (San Francisco Region) SCCA event. Nothing is required for autocross in my region except a full face helmet and the floor mats to be removed from the car. I'm not sure about regulations of other regions but I'd imagine they'd be the same. Rally is a bit different (assuming you're talking about actual rally, not street rally,) and I believe you have to have a number of safety mods such as a roll cage, 5-point, extinguisher, etc.
